Hello to everybody out there. Theres a show going on tonight starting 5:45. We'll be playing all of your old fav's and a couple new ones, so come and check us out. We will be playing at Villanova University, in the Connelly Center. For directions on how to get to The Connelly Center from the main parking lot, check out our myspace site and look at our show dates. We'll be playing downstairs in the Bel Air Terrace.
We'll have some fresh CDs for you guys too, the quality of the recordings aren't top-notch, but its something. Enjoy!
Also, I do believe we'll be playing another show the thursday following this one. That show will again be in the Connelly Center. I think it's a battle of the bands, so come check it out. Should be fun. We'll put up some more info on it if we get any.

New Recording, New Website, and More

Wow, two updates in one month? We're back in business. This latest update is here to tell you we've recorded our favorite song, "Coming Home." The words were written about a year and a half ago, but now its finally complete and recorded. You can listen to it on our Myspace or on our Pure Volume profile.
Speaking of our Pure Volume profile, we have one! We just set it up yesterday and if you want to hear our music i'd suggest going to our Pure Volume site rather than our Myspace. The player is a lot more reliable. I hope you enjoy both pages though.
Also this site is about to get a whole mess of new pictures. The picture page (and really this whole page in general) hasn't been updated in quite a long time, and now we have new pictures. So thats the plan.

Myspace/Recordings/Show

Prisoner is still around. In fact, we just played a show! It was fun, and we played 4 new songs. We got invited back to play often, but we don't have any dates yet. Keep an eye out.

We also just discovered how easy it is to record digitally. So we did. And we uploaded them to our brand new myspace account.

Speaking of our brand new myspace account, check it out.

Prisoner Store and other news

Hey everyone, whats shakin'. The studs of Prisoner are pretty excited because Chris' ugly basketball season should be ending soon and we'll have a guitarist again! Yay! We had one practice with him recently and we filled him in a little bit on all our new music and it was fun times. But we've got more exciting news.
If you're anyting like us, which i'm sure you're not, you've been checking the Prisoner website almost daily waiting for the day when finally a Prisoner Store selling delicious Prisoner merchandise will open, only to find that no such store has opened. Then i'm sure you continue to cry alone in the corner of your room wondering why no one likes you and your girlfriend left you and your parents didn't get you that toy truck when you were in the third grade. So you continue to write angsty poetry and when you show it to people and they don't respond much to it you call them squares and assume they don't understand the depth of your poetry, and then you feel like you're all alone in this world cause no one else can understand the depth of your emotional madness. Then you meet a girl who acts the same way and you two live happily (or deppressingly?) ever after.
Uh...What the hell am I talking about? I really need to stop trailing off like that, especially when i'm writing news. Anyway, about that Prisoner Store thats been making you all emotional messes. It's open! Thats right! Click Here to go to the official Prisoner Store, selling clothes with our logo (which is actually copyrighted these days, along with the two songs that are up for download). I whipped up another section of this website with our store on it, so that you don't have to leave Prisoner's pretty website to shop at Prisoner's pretty store. To get there, click here or on the link to the left that says "Store!"
Have we become corporate sell-out whores already? Not yet! The reason we opened this store is not cause we expect to make lots of money but because we hear some fans out in Conestoga land liked us so much they started making their own shirts and selling them and whatnot. So we figured instead of putting them through all that trouble, why not just open an official store where they can go to and everyone can be happy.

Listen to our Music

Hey everyone, we've finally got some news. Unfortunatly it's not about an up-and-coming show, but instead i'm here to tell you that you can listen to our music without having to find one of us and make us fetch the tape and a tape player. Now the recording is really bad, but it's something. I had to play the tape and record it by holding up an MP3 player/recorder by the speakers, so naturally it's not very good quality. It's something though, and you can download it in the Downloads section of the site. So check it out. The two songs are "Tonight," and "With You." Enjoy.

Pointless Update

Hows it going folks. No real news to report today, but i've gotten some complaints that I haven't updated in a while. Well, one complaint (Matt Urgantingshipturnginfarpletitsh. I'm pretty sure thats how it's spelled). So even though Prisoner has nothing really important to say, we'll let you know whats new.
Well Chris, our Guitarist of course, has some strange sexual attraction to basketball so lately he is always playing basketball so we barely ever get to practice with him these days. So while the rest of us are waiting for him to finish up his wacky season, we're still jamming occasionally. A long while ago Brian and Jim met up and wrote guitar and lyrics for a song, but we need Chris back before we can go any further with that song. Incase you were wondering though, it's sounding real good so far. Matt has been writing all sorts of bass lines that we've been putting into a bunch of different songs we've been working on as well, including one funny and lighthearted song that we've been working on.
Also, we finally are almost finished our one song known only as A#G. Matt Jim and Brian came up with the basics for this song a long long time ago, back when Prisoner was still a secret, and we only had one or two other songs. We've been calling it simply A#G all this time because it's the first two notes played by the bass in the song and we needed some way to refer to it. Well we've been calling it that for so long that even now after we've pretty much finished it, we're so set into the name A#G and we can't call it anything else and we don't plan to.
As much as we would like to use our little time with Chris to work on these new songs, the next time we get to practice with Chris, the time is probably going to be spent recording our old music, cause we really need to get that done. Thats all we've got to say really, sorry it took so long to say anything. Brian has mentioned something about some sort of wacky concert out like an hour away. We don't know much of anything about that for now, so you can just pretend I didn't mention that.

First time on Stage

Last night at the Battle of the Bands Prisoner played their first show on stage. We got there at 6 and they told us we could chose when we wanted to play, so we chose first. We set up and called everyone that wanted to come and when 7:30 rolled around we started our show. We opened up with Realizing, ran into some technical difficulties with the instruments but still played through. Then The Teased, With You, The Glass Sea, and we finished with Tonight. If you weren't there.... Where the hell were you? Thank you to everyone who was there though, you were all awesome. If you want to know how the show went, you're probably better off asking someone who was there rather than one of us, because we can't really see our selves playing.
Theres a good chance you'll be seeing a video on this website from the show, most likely of Tonight. Also we're probably going to be doing two more shows soon, one in late November, and one late December.
Also, Matt wants everyone to know that if you saw him in his 70's get-up last night, he plans on wearing that to all the shows.

More Battle of the Bands info

Matt and Jim stopped by for more info on this battle of the bands going on this Haloween. As far as we know now, it will start at 7:30 on Halloween night, which is this Friday, October 31st. Theres going to be 7 or 8 bands playing (including us), and it will end at 11ish or 11:30. I have no idea what time we are playing, we'll figure it out when we get there I guess. So cause there is so few bands and so much time, we'll be giving a set of about 25 minutes long, which ends up being around 5 of our songs. So come out on Friday, Springfield High School, 7:30 in the Auditorium.

-Wednesday, October 29th, 2003

Well Brian Jim and Matt headed down to the main office today and signed up for the Battle Of The Bands for halloween night. There was only 3 other bands on the list, so hopefully more sign up soon. Or maybe you'd be better off if it was just us four bands, that way you'd hear more of Prisoner.
According to the signs i've seen posted around the school, it's Haloween night at 7:30. I'll update this when I know more about whats going on.

First Download Ever At the Prisoner Webpage

That's right, if you weren't at the September 28th "show" and you aren't one person in the very small group of people Brian has shown the video too, then you have never seen Prisoner play (though you may have heard our tape). Well now you can see this video of us performing The Glass Sea. It's a short video (1 minute, 38 seconds) and the quality of the audio isn't great, but it's all we've got.
To view the video, visit the Downloads section.
Also, expect another video of us performing Realizing soon.
